Stephen Smyth gets place in Poc Fada
Louth’s Stephen Smyth from Pearse Og – The Louth Poc Fada Champion and third runner up in the Leinster Provincial Championship will be competing on Annaverna Mountain tomorrow afternoon after being drafted in as a late replacement.
Stephen represented Louth in 2006, let’s hope that on this occasion he can bring All Ireland Honours home for
the Wee County. He replaces Ruairi Convery (Derry) who due to County commitments has had to withdraw from the All Ireland Final.
Louth now has competitors in all three categories…
Seniors – Stephen Smyth
Camogie – Voureen Quigley and Catriona Cantwell
Boys U16 – Dónall Connolly Jr.
Hopes are high for a Louth win given that it is the 50th Anniversary of the First Poc Fada so let’s wish them the best of luck tomorrow – it should be a great competition in all three categories.
